The study will feed into the assessment of the scope of the Geoblocking Regulation, and in particular, as regards the inclusion of the audiovisual and non-audiovisual services giving access to copyright protected content in a possible revision of the scope of the Regulation. The study has two objectives:
(a) to identify and gather data, both qualitative and quantitative, from the supply as well as demand side as regards the audiovisual and non-audiovisual services giving access to copyright protected content using primary and secondary data sources;
(b) to undertake an impact analysis of a potential extension of the Geoblocking Regulation to the above identified sectors, where the trader has the required rights for the relevant territories, taking into account the following aspects:
1) impact on the sectors concerned;
2) impact on all relevant actors depending on the sector, including rights holders and distributors; and
3) impact on consumers.
